Our 2016 FUND-A-NEED is focused on building our STEAM resources at Mercymount.  This is your chance to help us create a very exciting opportunity for our students in Science, Technology,Engineering, Arts and Math.   We are asking for your support to help us build a STEAM lab.  

STEAM is an adaptable new initiative in education. STEAM is engaging, hands-on and reality-based interdisciplinary education. STEAM allows students to connect their learning in science, technology, engineering and math with arts practices, elements, design principles, and standards to provide the whole pallet of learning at their disposal. STEAM removes limitations and replaces them with wonder, critique, inquiry, and innovation. STEAM is a framework for teaching that is based on natural ways of learning, customizable for ALL types of students and programs and is FUNctional!  

A STEAM lab is a place in the school that we want to create in order to incorporate all of those ideas and practices within the curriculum, electives and extracurricular activities.
